We have just moved to a new shopping cart for our internet store. We've been trying to accomplish this move for over a year! We built our first store from scratch, and it has been very difficult to make the switch. Unfortunately we had outgrown our old cart and needed a new cart with more functionality. I wanted our new store to be perfect and virtually identical to our old store before launching it. However, we have been experiencing an increase in problems with the old cart overselling inventory and losing orders so we are making the switch a bit prematurely. Please, please excuse our dust as we settle in and continue to add content, images, and polish the design elements in the new store.

Features of our new internet store: (just to name our favorite new features that we think will really improve your shopping experience!)

• Quantity discounts are automatically calculated! Yay! No more need to add discounts to your cart separately.
• Better Inventory Control. If you put more in your cart than we have in stock, you will receive a message to let you know what we have in stock. It also eliminates the need to write in your color choices for package deals- you are shown exactly what we have in stock, and select your colors from what we have so there are no surprises when you open your package and get only your 4th or 5th choice colors! It also takes the guesswork out of orders for our shipping crew, who sometimes spend a long time discussing what "all colors" (is white a color?) or "boy colors only" (is melon a boy color?) or "gender neutral only" (is blue gender neutral?) means!
• More efficient ordering of larger quantities, great for doing packages. On each item page, when you select size and color and quantity of products, you can select "save and choose another" and immediately choose the next size/color/quantity. This saves time so you don't need to go back and forth between the shopping cart numerous times- you can select several sizes and colors and then add them to the cart all at once. For example, if you want 12 Fuzzi Bunz, you might select 3 small blue, then click "save and choose another," 3 small red, then click "save and choose another," 2 medium pink, then click "save and choose another," and 2 medium orange, then "save and choose another," and then select "add to cart" and all that you've selected will be added to the cart together, automatically calculating the discount you are due. Play with this feature also with BumGenius and any product where you will be adding multiples to your cart
• .Better ability to see your history and order status. You can create an account, so your address info is saved! Once you have an order in the system, you can log in to your account and check the status any time. If you have a concern, question, or comment about anything in an order, you can click the "help desk" button next to the order in your history, and communicate with us about it.
• Easier returns. If you want to return something, you can log in to your account, select the item you wish to return, and click "request RMA."
• Better Gift Registry. The new gift registry will not have the bugs our old registry did. You can also have multiple wish lists.
• Inventory control on options- something we did not have previously, and is a really important feature that will make ordering much easier. In our old store, for produdcts with lots of colors, each color had to be a separate item. So we had Fuzzi Bunz- Blue, Fuzzi Bunz-Green, etc. Now, we will have just one item called Fuzzi Bunz, with all colors and sizes on one page for easy ordering. No more going back and forth a hundred times while you decide on colors and see available stock!
• Ability to see your cart total while you browse. In the upper left hand corner of our template, you will see a little mini-cart appear as you shop, with a quick link to the checkout page

Things we are still working on:

• 3+ years in the old store means that I have added notes, links, images, etc. on hundreds of pages. What this means is that you may be reading along in the new cart, and click on a link to something, and it will either go to our old store or it will go nowhere. It may take a while for us to clean and replace all of these old links. If you find yourself transported to the old site, feel free to read or look at whatever you have been taken there to see, but please use the back button on your browser to return to our new store! We will keep our old store up for awhile to ensure we get everything transferred over.
• Images and layout of product pages. We have essentially copied and pasted item descriptions, etc. from the old site to the new site. In this process, some of the formatting and layout is lost. So the product and item description pages don't look as pretty as I would like them to. This will be an ongoing process.
• Getting inventory correct. We have hundreds of products that we need to enter correct inventory quantities for. We will need to do this overnight on the night before the new cart goes live. However, people will still be shopping in the old cart while we get the new cart ready, so we may have inventory discrepancies during the overlap. We will do our best to fix this ASAP.
• Unknown idiosyncracies. With computers, there are bound to be unanticipated issues. Please help us find them! We will be compiling a list and working through them bit by bit. Hopefully there will be very few.
• Any problems at all with checking out in the new cart, please call us at 888-677-3228. We are happy to do a phone order.
• Biggest worry for us currently- gift registries. We are working on getting gift registries moved over, but we fear that we may miss some. If we missed your registry, we are so sorry. Let us know and we will get it moved right away, or you can set up a new registry on the new site. You can also submit a registry by email for us to add for you.
